Helping the Homeless

  HOW WE HELP

Hot Meals

The Mission hosts sit-down meals or sack lunch distribution, three days a week, for the homeless and poor, partnering with local churches throughout Riverside.

Residential Rehabilitation Program

In the past, the Riverside City Mission had provided a residential rehabilitation facility for recovering drug addicts and alcoholics.  However, we discontinued this service due to lack of financial support.  Our intention is to reopen a residential facility when funding is available.

The Mission makes referrals for homeless individuals to other long term residential rehabilitation programs.

Referral Services

The Mission provides aggressive referral services for the chronically homeless.  In other words, if we can't provide the housing, we'll find the housing.

Clothing

The Mission provides clothing, jackets, hats, gloves, blankets and hygiene kits for the homeless.

Job Search

The Mission assists the homeless in filling out job applications and applying for social security and other government assistance.

Emergency Shelter

In the meantime, we provide emergency overnight housing in local motels for destitute women, single moms with children and homeless seniors on a case by case basis.

Spiritual Emphasis

The Mission provides Bible studies, scripture memorization, Bible games and personal counseling for all of our homeless guests.
